1. What is Software-on-Demand?
Answer: Software-on-Demand, also called "Applications-on-Demand", enables broadband users to select and run software applications using any business model and fee structure, from within their enterprise network or as a consumer service. Powered by Exent technology, a selection of applications - such as games and entertainment programs designed to run on a local PC — can be enjoyed via installation-free streaming technology. This means users get the original performance and quality, with a single click of the mouse.

2. What is a Games-on-Demand service?
Answer: Games and entertainment programs are becoming the number-one value-added service on the Internet. Games-on-Demand enable a user to play a wide selection of games without ever needing to purchase or install them on the local PC. With a single click of the mouse the user can select a game to play from a large variety and start play within a very short time.
Games-on-Demand are offered by broadband service providers, consumer portals, publishers and retailers, and offer value-oriented packages to consumers of all ages and demographic groups.

3. Who can benefit from Exent-powered Games-on-Demand services?
Answer: Just about anyone! Broadband service providers benefit by attracting new users, increasing revenue through value-added services, gaining the flexibility to offer bundles and incentives, and reducing churn from their access services. Publishers benefit because they extend the reach of their game titles to new casual audiences, increase their product life cycle, and leverage their back-catalogs. Consumer portals benefit by creating new revenue streams and increasing traffic to the site, thereby increasing the value of advertising. Internet cafes can differentiate their services by offering killer content. Retailers also benefit from offering Games-on-Demand, because they extend product shelf space and shelf life and increase customer loyalty. And, of course, end users benefit from a larger selection of cost effective games, which they can play anytime, anywhere...
The list goes on, because ultimately, everyone in the gaming value chain benefits, including game developers, advertisers, media and entertainment companies and more.

4. How is Exent-powered Games-on-Demand different from downloading software?
Answer: Exent-powered Games-on-Demand differ from traditional software download in three major areas: Delivery, Security and Usability.
Most software applications require a download and installation on the local machine. As you install more applications, problems crop up because of overwriting of files previously installed by other applications, or improper updates to the Windows® registry. In addition, large programs are time consuming to download, take up disk space, and can be very costly to purchase.
Exent's EXEtender™ only requires a small amount of data - typically 5%-10% of the application - to be streamed to your computer before you can start playing. EXEtender emulates the Windows® environment to ensure there are no file and registry conflicts between applications.
The streamed game includes all security features built in by the publisher, and adds EXEtender-specific layers on top of that.
And unmatched usability is ensured with the EXEtender player, which has multiple parameters that can be configured to suit your individual taste and needs.

5. What is the EXEtender Player?
Answer: The games from an Exent-powered Games-on-Demand service are delivered to your computer through the EXEtender player. The player is installed quickly and seamlessly the first time you play a game powered by Exent. After installation, the player facilitates streaming games and emulates the local machine environment so no installation, rebooting, or local machine configuration is necessary to run.

6. Who can use it?
Answer: Anyone with a broadband connection using a Windows® 95/98/ME/2000/XP operating system.

7. What kind of gaming experience will I get online? Won't it be choppy, or a downgraded version of the game?
Answer: Not at all. Exent ensures that the gaming experience is seamless, and identical to the original. As a matter of fact, we don't change the original game coding in any way. Rather, we convert PC games and edutainment software into streamable formats, add security and digital rights management (DRM) elements, and supply a variety of usability features that ensure a smooth and enjoyable playing experience.

8. What kind of games can I play with an Exent-powered Games-on-Demand service?
Answer: Any genre of game that exists for PC, from strategy, to action, to sports, to multi-player… Exent has partnered with the leading games publishers in the world to make sure the best and most up-to-date games are available for our customers' Games-on-Demand services.

9. What about the risk of software piracy?
Answer: Exent assures secure delivery to the user computer. Our state-of-the-art technology preserves all copy protection capabilities built into the software by publisher, and adds additional security mechanisms such as content encryption, both when delivered and when stored locally; additional kernel copy protection traps on various levels of the application and storage mechanisms; storage of applications outputs in a way that only the game can access; and unique game encapsulated representation that does not allow standard file-system access to the application files.
EXEtender security is tightly integrated into our digital rights management (DRM) back-end to provide a robust infrastructure, allowing service providers and publishers to control license definition, issuing, management and auditing.

10. Is Games-on-Demand a service provided by Exent?
Answer: No. Exent provides products and services that enable Games-on-Demand in two ways: A company can use our technology to operate their Games-on-Demand services; or, Exent provides a full turnkey solution through which a company can provide a Games-on-Demand service to their users, according to the terms and pricing that fulfill their business goals, but which is operated by Exent at the back end. In neither case does Exent provide the service directly to end-users.

11. Where can I find a Games-on-Demand service?
Answer: Exent powers Games-on-Demand services for a growing number of globe-spanning operators. Among the companies operating services based on our technology are Verizon, Turner Broadcasting/GameTap, France Telecom/Wanadoo, T-Online (Deutsche Telekom), Telenor, Bell Canada, Portugal Telecom, Telstra, Metaboli and others.
